Retailers are always looking for the next retail trend. Consumers sometimes go in an unanticipated direction but consumer trends today definitely seem to point toward the continued success of electronics and technology products.

While professors and teachers may forbid the use of text messaging during class, the reality is that texting is here to stay. Students text their friends on the other side of a large campus to report on homework assignments and arrange for social gatherings later in the day.   

Consumers stand in line to buy the latest model of phone, itching to get their hands on the gaming technology, flip format screens and GPS capability that allow them to map and store favorite locations and contacts.  

Home entertainment has its own growing trends. Better TV resolution, larger screens and more options to combine gaming media are just some of the features supported by consumer buying trends.  

Growing sales of large screen TVs conflict with the opinions of some media experts who said no one would ever spend $5,000 on a television. With today’s technology, your family can experience the surround sound and display quality of a large movie theater without the hassle of the crowds.
